Madame Marie’s Weekly Roundup: Toronto’s Best Takeout and Delivery During COVID-19 – June 11, 2020

While GTA restaurants and bars haven’t yet received the green light to reopen under the provincial government’s plan, they’ve been given a heads up to start preparing. Of course, many new health and safety guidelines must be implemented.

Until the city’s restaurants are open for business, we can enjoy delicious takeout options. Here are my picks this week.

Lee
601 King Street West
(416) 504-7867
leerestaurant.com

Susur Lee’s flagship restaurant, Lee, is a Toronto institution for southeast Asian-inspired fare. You can now order your favourite dishes (read: Signature Singapore Style Slaw and Signature Cheeseburger Spring Roll) à la carte or in formats for two or four. Priced at $90, the dinner for two includes eight dishes that are bursting with flavour. Start your meal with the multi-sensory Signature Singapore Style Slaw, indulge in the slow braised beef, and satisfy your sweet tooth with the irresistible chocolate peanut butter dessert. Save room in your fridge, because you’ll definitely have leftovers. Delivery and takeout is available from Wednesday to Sunday.

Pai Northern Thai Kitchen
18 Duncan Street
(416) 901-4724
paitoronto.com

Pai, one of the city’s finest Thai establishments, is serving their chili-laden food for takeout and delivery. Not only does Chef Nuit Regular prepare a mean Pad Thai and green curry, she also does a standout rendition of khao soi, a noodle soup made with a choice of protein and crispy egg noodles. Pai’s menu also includes a soulful massaman curry that will make you want more. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Chef Nuit Pad Thai.

Ice Cream Junction
3103 Dundas Street West
(416) 769-7259
icecreamjunction.wixsite.com/ice-cream

Although it’s not officially summer, the hot, humid weather is making ice cream more desirable than ever. Ice Cream Junction offers generous portions of freshly-scooped ice cream from Kawartha Dairy as well as soft serve. It’s open from noon to 9 p.m. so you can get your frozen dessert fix – just be prepared to wait in a long line!

Ice cream!

Bon appétit!

Bisous,
