Madame Marie’s Weekly Roundup: Toronto’s Best Takeout and Delivery During COVID-19 – May 7, 2020

Bonjour, Toronto!

Whether we’re in the midst of a pandemic or living a more normal life, one thing’s for certain: we need to eat!

There’s never been a better time to order takeout and delivery in the city and support our local businesses. Here’s my latest list so you can stay fuelled in lockdown.

Parallel
217 Geary Avenue
(416) 516-7765
parallelbrothers.com

There’s only one name you need to remember for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine: Parallel. Owned by two brothers, this spacious café is best known for its vibrant green falafel, ground-on-site sesame butter and homemade halva. At Parallel, the falafel (3 for $6) is some of the best I’ve had in terms of technique and flavour. The blend of coriander, mint, scallion, parsley, and green pepper adds a refreshing twist. And the hummus ($14) is silky and generously topped. Be sure to try the truffle hummus ($18) for a decadent treat. Also, you can’t go wrong with the Arais, crispy lamb and beef pita ($19), and fried cauliflower ($17). When it comes to overall satisfaction, Parallel is unparalleled! Check out the takeout menu.

Rasa

The Food Dudes are back in business after temporarily closing due to COVID-19. Beloved Rasa is offering many fan favourites for pick-up and delivery, including the Chopped Salad ($15), Rasa Burger and Fries ($19) and the indulgent Sticky Bun ($13). Good news for wine lovers, too – bottles are available for half price with any food order. The Food Dudes have also launched Bodega, an online shop with high-quality items to keep your pantry stocked and your appetite satiated. Take a peek for Mother’s Day specials, including fresh oysters from Rodney’s Oyster House and make your own mimosa kits.

Windsor Arms Hotel
18 St. Thomas Street

If you’ve been to the Windsor Arms Hotel for high tea, you’ll surely agree that it’s nothing short of elegant. Celebrate your mom or mother figure this Mother’s Day with a fancy high tea that includes scones, delicate sandwiches and sweet petit fours ($140 for four, loose leaf tea extra). Available for pickup until May 17. This special treat will be sure to make your mom/mother figure feel like royalty (even at home)!

Bisous,

Mme. M. xoxo
