Madame Marie’s Weekly Roundup: Toronto’s Best Takeout and Delivery During COVID-19 – June 4, 2020

COVID-19 might be keeping us cooped up, but some of the city’s best meals are still available in the comfort and safety of our homes. With more restaurants opening back up each day, here are some options to try while supporting independent businesses in our city.

El Pocho
2 Follis Avenue
(647) 794-7115
elpocho.ca

This Annex spot is known for its fresh and flavourful Mexican street food. Almost everything is made in-house and the facility is 100 percent gluten-free. Get your fix of some of the city’s best tortilla chips and salsa verde to start. After some delicious elotes and ceviche, dive into the tacos. El Pocho also has eight types of tacos to choose from, such as deep fried avocado tacos, battered fish, and beef barbacoa. Check out the menu, and start salivating.

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
85 Hanna Avenue, Suite 104
(416) 588-5695
mildreds.ca

Are you looking for a mid-week breakfast boost – or a pantry refill, for that matter? Mildred’s Temple Kitchen in Liberty Village has you covered with their Brunch in a Box. Order staple breakfast items, including ingredients to make their irresistible blueberry pancakes, BBQ items, drinks and more. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of the ‘Out to Brunch’ Cookbook so you can satisfy your brunch fix all summer long. Online ordering is open from Sunday at 12 p.m. to Friday at 12 p.m. Pick-up and delivery available. See the full menu here.

Golden Gecko Coffee
282 Jane Street
(416) 413 7650
goldengeckocoffee.com

Coffee shops have always been there to serve us, whether a local spot doubles as your office or your neighborhood coffee shop is your daily detour on the way to work. Golden Gecko may not be as full and lively as it once was, but the long take away line is mere proof of its popularity. And, Golden Gecko doesn’t just brew a mean cup of joe, they have a variety of baked goods and ice cream by the scoop. Golden Gecko’s online store also offers a variety of items, including coffee beans, that are available for pick up or free local delivery.

Bon appétit!

Bisous,

Mme. M. xoxo
