Madame Marie’s Weekly Roundup: Toronto’s Best Takeout, Delivery and Dining During COVID-19 – July 9, 2020

With more patios, wineries, and breweries opening every day, life’s starting to feel a lot less apocalyptic. While restaurants are reopening or getting ready to reopen, many places are still offering takeout and delivery. Check out my past updates for delicious options across the city.

Here are this week’s picks.

Terroni
1095 Yonge Street (and other locations)
(416) 925-4020
terroni.com

If there’s one thing most people can agree on, it’s that a hearty bowl of pasta or thin-crust pizza is always a good choice. Over the years, Terroni has made its mark across the city and beyond. Terroni has become the go-to spot for casual-chic, honest Italian fare – and for good reason. From timeless classics, such as Tagliatelle alla Bolognese made with daily house-made pasta and Margherita pizza, to daily specials featuring branzino, there’s no shortage of variety. Order dishes with a side of Frittura di Calamari and save room for tiramisu. In addition to takeout and delivery, the gorgeous rooftop patio is now open and accepting reservations.

The Restaurant at Red Stone Winery
4245 King Street (Beamsville)
(905) 563-9463
redstonewines.ca/

Sampling wines is a summer staple in the Niagara region. With wineries now open for tastings and tours, there’s a good reason to escape from the city for some vino and local cuisine. Red Stone Winery is located in Beamsville – a short drive from Toronto – and its restaurant features a seasonal menu of regional dishes. Enjoy the marinated Ontario burrata, pan-seared rainbow trout and dry-aged steak frites with a glass of wine (try the Sauvignon Blanc) while you take in the stunning scenery. Red Stone has rigorous health and safety measures, including temperature checks upon entrance, sanitization procedures and contact tracing protocols – all of which made me feel very comfortable.

Dineen Coffee Company
140 Temperance Street
(416) 900-0949
dineencoffee.com/

This boutique coffee shop in the financial district may not be churning out as many morning espressos for the Bay Street crowd as it once was, but the patio is open and ready for coffee-loving patrons. Unlike most downtown coffee shops, Dineen has a spacious side patio that’s great for catching up with a friend while soaking up the sun. Located in the historic Dineen Building, there’s nothing this place doesn’t do well. In addition to great coffee and a fantastic patio, Dineen also has tempting treats, friendly staff, and fabulous ambiance.

Latte from Dineen.

Bon appétit!

Bisous,

Mme. M. xoxo
