The 2020 holiday season isn’t cancelled – it just looks a lot different this year. With an increased number of more intimate holiday gatherings in the coming weeks, consider handing over the apron to someone else and ordering a lavish feast to enjoy at home (stretchy pants optional!).

Although this holiday season is unlike any other, there’s always a good reason to eat, drink, be grateful, and support your local restaurants.

A special Christmas dinner from the team behind Canada’s number one restaurant, is designed to be picked up on December 24 and reheated on Christmas. Tender turkey breast, savoury chestnut stuffing, and a festive trifle are all part of the menu. $75 per person for pick up and $85 for delivery.

Alobar Yorkville

With the same attention to detail and finesse as its sister restaurant, Alo, Alobar Yorkville’s holiday feast is designed for larger groups. It’s available for pickup on December 24 for $110 per person. Savour delicious dishes from Chef Patrick Kriss and team such as east coast lobster with melted butter, potato gratin, honey-glazed carrots, beef short rib bourguignon, and dark chocolate cheesecake with raspberry compote.

Chef Doug Penfold has curated a classic Christmas dinner menu for $65 per person. You’ll find foie gras, roasted turkey and a chestnut yule log. Available for pickup on December 23. The New Year’s Eve menu looks equally satisfying with dishes such as lobster salad, tender veal and a marquis au chocolate with raspberry coulis to enjoy before the clock strikes midnight. Available for pick up on December 31 for $70 per person.

This seafood-forward restaurant downtown Toronto is offering a tempting holiday meal for $160 per person. It includes jamon, Fogo Island snow crab legs, wild Portuguese turbot with black truffle, a salad of winter lettuces and tiramisu for a sweet finish. Available for pickup from December 21 to 25. A New Year’s Eve menu is in development.

Engima Fine Dining offers high-end tasting menus with European influences. For a fancy Christmas feast, consider the newly-opened restaurant in Yorkville’s Windsor Arms Hotel. Menu options include turkey breast, roast duck, Beef Wellington and halibut en croute. Limited quantities are available for pickup on December 23 and 24.

What’s not to love about a holiday meal with a French flair? This Leslieville mainstay has created a holiday menu for two for $200 featuring chicken liver mousse, turkey tourtière and cheesy baked brie topped with blueberry gastrique for a savoury finale. Available for pickup from December 22 to 24.

IKUNE by Après Wine Bar

IKUNE, Après Wine Bar’s Japanese-inspired takeout concept, launched a holiday takeout meal package with tuna tartare, snow crab and ikura donabe, soy-braised short ribs and a yuzu roll cake. If you’re in the mood for something other than turkey, this is a safe bet. Don’t forget a bottle of sake or natural wine from their bottle shop. $50 per person (minimum two-person order).

Choose your own festive meal adventure with a five-course meal from Lake Inez for $125 (serves two people). It includes a choice of appetizer, potato, main (turkey, smoked ham or smoked watermelon) and dessert. Pre-order online for pickup December 23 or 24.

Let Chef Jesse Vallins make your holiday meal a breeze with MLT’s Christmas Feast for four. Priced at a reasonable $195, it includes beet and orange salad, roast turkey, Brussels sprouts, chestnut stuffing and sticky toffee pudding with egg nog cream – to name a few! Available for pickup from December 22 to 24.

Inspired by Executive Chef Chris Locke’s family holiday meal growing up in England, Marben’s Taste of Home Chicken Ballantine festive dinner kit is a four-course experience that has you covered from appetizers to dessert. If chicken’s not your thing, try the Beef Wellington or Onion and Sweet Potato Tart festive kits instead. Available for two to six people starting at $180 per kit. Available throughout the month of December.

This modern French bistro with outstanding food has tempting holiday meals for every sized gathering. The Christmas dinner for four ($280) includes a whole roasted chicken with Périgord truffle and pear and parsnip puree while the Christmas dinner for eight people ($560) includes a whole turkey and all the accoutrements. Available for pickup from December 22 to 24.

If you’ve been longing to try turducken, now you can with Richmond Station’s Turducken Feast. Packed for at-home enjoyment, it features a full turducken, sure-to-impress sides including scalloped potatoes with a healthy dose of truffle, brioche stuffing and “Cran Marnier” sauce to top it all off. For $55 per person, it’s available for pickup on December 22 and 23. Check out their New Year’s Eve Party Feast for Two as well, complete with charcuterie and striploin steak.

This modern steakhouse located on Queen Street West is serving up a smoked turkey breast and confit turkey leg with all the fixings. For $65 per person, you’ll get Parker House rolls, crab-stuffed Portobello mushrooms, pancetta and pear stuffing, mashed potatoes, slow roasted carrots, creamed spinach and sticky toffee pudding. You can feel good about supporting Tanto because they’re paying it forward this holiday season – $5 from each portion will be donated to Sistering.

The Drake is ringing in the festive season with Festivus Feasts this holiday. Starting at $39 per person, pre-order for pick up on December 24 and 25. The traditional-style menu includes house-baked sourdough, oven-roasted turkey, gouda gratin, leek and apricot stuffing, Brussels sprouts, carrots and parsnips, gravy and cranberry sauce, and apple pie for dessert. Turkey dinner orders must be placed online before December 13.
